How Advisors Work With You - The 6 Step ProcessSTEP 1 - INITIAL MEETING At your initial appointment we will spend time getting to know you, your goals and objectives. This will help both of us determine the type of service you will require, and how we can work together to achieve your goals. It is important that you give us as much information as possible at that meeting so we can tailor our approach and ensure you receive the highest levels of service. We will also provide you with a Financial Services Guide, which will outline our services, and an indication of the range of fees you are likely to incur. This meeting is normally free of charge. STEP 2 - RESEARCH Following this initial meeting, should you decide to proceed we will provide you with a questionnaire to complete so we have all the background information we need to research and develop an appropriate investment strategy to help achieve your goals. We will also determine your attitude to investment risk, and explain the potential benefits and consequences of particular general investment choices. STEP 3 - LETTER OF ENGAGEMENT Once the first two steps have been completed we will provide you with a Letter of Engagement to confirm the terms of the service we will provide. Our objective is that you not only understand how much you are paying, but also what value you receive for your money. Our fees essentially fall into two categories: Advice fees We can either collect advice fees as a cash payment, or offset them against any initial payments we receive from product providers or fund managers during the process of implementing the advice you have been given. Ongoing service fees STEP 4 - ADVICE PREPARATION Once we have all the relevant information, we can develop integrated Investment strategies for your consideration. By understanding your short, medium and long term Goals, what you want to achieve in life and how far you are towards achieving these goals, we can then use our expertise and resources to develop strategies to get you where you need to be both now and in the future. During this stage we will analyse your needs and objectives and identify any issues, then we will consider and develop a range of strategies to determine which one best suits your needs, conduct research in to appropriate products for your situation and prepare a written document outlining our recommendations. STEP 5 - ADVICE PRESENTATION Our recommendations will be provided at a subsequent meeting, in the form of a Report or “Statement of Advice”. This will include not only full details of the strategies we recommend but also full information on recommended implementation approaches, alternative strategies considered and the cost to you to implement the recommended approach. We will also provide you with specific information on the products we have recommended. STEP 6 - ADVICE IMPLEMENTATION & ONGOING SERVICE Once we have reviewed the strategies together and you are content to proceed, we will then set out a plan for implementation. Again this provides a clear guide to what we are going to do and when along with the associated costs. After implementation we discuss with you an ongoing service for reviewing your Statement of Advice. This is because developing and implementing our recommendations should never be considered as a one off event - it is an ongoing process which evolves as your investment goals change. At AAM Advisory we strive to ensure that you are not only delighted with the initial advice and financial strategies that we recommend but also that you have ongoing confidence that your plan will continue to meet your needs in the future. |
