Matthew Dabbs Executive Director / CEO / Financial Adviser Representative After 10 years of working both in the UK as an independent financial advisor, and in south east Asia giving offshore financial advice, Matthew set-up the fund and portfolio management company AAM with Andrew McKay in 2003. As executive director and chief representative Matthew has extensive knowledge of not only financial planning but also of marketing and distribution. Matthew is fully UK FPC qualified as well as being fully qualified and licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Matthew also sits on the AAM Advisory Investment Committee
Andrew McKay BCom SAFin AFSL229918 Executive Director / CIO / Head of Compliance
Andrew’s background is in economics with over 15 years experience in trading futures/options and foreign exchange and over 10 years of managing client portfolios and funds. After graduating from the University of Melbourne Andrew took up a position with the Bank of New York in Sydney as a securities dealer. Andrew then moved on to take up a position in London with a subsidiary of Shearson Lehman Hutton as Senior Securities and Futures Dealer. On his return to Australia in the early 1990s Andrew started up his own asset management company and since then has been applying his extensive market knowledge to the management of funds and personal portfolios. Andrew carries an Australian Financial Services License with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (License No. 229918). Andrew is also chair of the AAM Advisory Investment Committee
Nick Anderson FPC ACIBS Executive Director / Financial Adviser Representative Nick’s career in Financial Services spans over 20 years commencing in 1988 with The Royal Bank of Scotland based in Edinburgh, UK. Subsequently, he graduated from a three-year course to become an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Bankers as well as becoming a qualified Independent Financial Adviser holding the full UK Financial Planning Certificate. In 2000 he relocated to Asia and subsequently obtained the requisite certification to practice as a licensed financial adviser representative in Singapore. In 2005, as one of the two main partners, Nick set up the Robinson Road Branch of PIAS. The branch specialises in advising the expatriate community in Singapore and by 2008, the branch had doubled in size with the team of advisers coming from 4 different continents. Nick has built up a large client base within the local and expatriate community and has made South East Asia his long-term home. Nick resides in Singapore with his wife Lynne and their three children and is an active player of golf, tennis and still manages to compete for his local soccer team after 7 years active service.
Lee Sanders FPC ACIBS Executive Director / Financial Adviser Representative Lee has a long standing career of over 15 years. Lee started as an Independent Financial Adviser with Abbey National Plc based in Sheffield (UK) and after 3 years became a UK qualified Financial Planner. Lee became one of the top consultants in the company within his first 2 yrs and now holds the full Financial Planning Certificate and is an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Bankers.
In 1998 Lee came to Asia and completed further education that allowed him to continue as a Financial Planner under local regulations. Lee commenced working in Singapore as the General Manager of Affinity Financial Consulting during which time he grew the branch to 5 times its original size, in terms of both client numbers and advisers, over the 4 yr period that he was there.
Lee resides in Singapore and plays an active part in rugby & touch rugby clubs. He has played for the Singapore National Touch Rugby team in Tournaments around the world including the World Cup in South Africa.
Timothy Ross ICFA Senior Financial Adviser Representative Tim's career in Financial Services spans over 15 years commencing with an International brokerage based in Asia. He is certified by the Chartered Institute from the UK and is a qualified Financial Adviser here in Singapore. He previously worked for an International Investment product provider based in Hong Kong, Tim gained invaluable experience and through that has extensive knowledge of the region along with the various products on offer and understands the workings from the inside of an investment company. Tim has built up a client base internationally and continues to look after clients located worldwide as we know an expatriate type lifestyle can take clients far and wide. Timothy has made South East Asia his long-term home.
Gavin Duckett BEc MCom(FinPlan) SAFin Investment Manager / Investment Committee Member Gavin's role within AAM Advisory is focused purely on investment/portfolio research and asset allocation policy. Gavin has 8 years experience in the financial services industry having held roles in taxation, accounting, insurance, financial planning and investment management. This broad range of knowledge & experience has been gained through positions with companies such as Godfrey Pembroke Financial Consultants, Zurich Financial Services, Swiss Re, The American International Group (AIG) and now AAM Advisory. Working for multinational corporations over the years has allowed him to live and work in Sydney, London, Kuala Lumpur and now Singapore. Gavin has a Bachelors Degree in Economics/Banking & Finance and a Masters Degree in Commerce/Financial Planning. Gavin is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and is a candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)© program. Gavin also sits on the AAM Advisory Investment Committee
David Agar BSc CertPFS IMC Senior Financial Adviser Representative / Investment Committee Member David started his financial career in the UK with Scottish Provident, who became part of the Abbey National empire, working on unit-linked administration and client servicing. Following this David then worked for many years with the Co-operative Insurance Society in Manchester UK, focusing on pension analysis and compliance with the PIA later the FSA. David moved to South-East Asia in 2003 and since then has focused on providing high-quality financial advice and building up long-term client relationships. David holds UK and Singapore financial planning qualifications, has completed the UK Investment Management Certificate and is a CFA Candidate. As a family man with two young children, David tries to construct and manage a balanced portfolio of work/life interests including some exposure to sailing, squash, climbing, football and travelling. David also sits on the AAM Advisory Investment Committee
U-Bond Wong BA (Hons) MLIA (Dip) ICFA General Manager / Financial Adviser Representative / Investment Committee Member U-Bond is a fully licensed and qualified Financial Adviser Representative. Being both UK and Singapore qualified as well as a member of the Life Insurance Association of UK and Chartered Institute of Insurance (UK) ensures that he keeps up to date on all industry related issues, partakes in a minimum number of regular formal training activities to support his membership, and abides by the Professional Code of Ethics. U-Bond has been in the financial services industry as a financial adviser since 1995, and since 2003 has been working with mainly expatriate clients in Asia focusing on the areas of financial and estate planning. Prior to joining AAM Advisory, his experience includes working at the Bank of Ireland (UK) Group as a financial planner and estate planning specialist helping to set up and pilot the bank’s UK estate planning service. His other experience includes working at Prudential Private Financial Planning Services (PFPS) and Sun Life of Canada. Some of his financial planning expertise includes developing wealth building strategies, wealth protection, estate planning, tax planning and retirement planning. U-Bond also sits on the AAM Advisory Investment Committee
